What is my duty free allowance?
Tobacco: 200 cigarettes or 250 grams of tobacco or 50 cigars or a combination weighing not more than 250 grams.
Liquor: Six bottles (4.5 litres) of wine, port or sherry or 12 cans (4.5 litres) of beer. Plus three bottles (or other containers) each containing no more than 1125mls of spirits, liqueur, or other spirituous beverages.
Fragrance: Personal quantities of fragrances and cosmetics are additional to the above, although perfume concentrate is included in the General Allowances provision.
General: NZ$700.00 of other goods.
Please ensure that you declare your over allowances goods and remember that your Duty Free allowances relate to the country you enter - not from where you depart.

How safe am I shopping on your website?

How can I pay for my online purchase?

What currency am I charged in?
All prices shown on our website are in NZ dollars. Your credit card will be charged in NZ dollars. For foreign credit card holders your credit card provider will convert the transaction to your local currency at the current exchange rates.
Is there a cut off time for purchasing online?
Between the hours of 8.00am and 10.00pm orders must be received by DFS NZ at least 2 hours prior to your departure from or arrival in New Zealand.
During a public holiday in Auckland between the hours of 10.00am and 9.00pm orders must be received by DFS NZ at least 2 hours prior to your departure from or arrival in New Zealand.
Orders placed between the hours of 10.00pm (9pm on public holidays) and midnight will be available for collection at either your departure from or arrival in New Zealand after 12.00pm (Noon) on the day following your order placement.
Orders placed between the hours of midnight and 8.00am (10am on public holidays) will be available for collection at either your departure from or arrival in New Zealand after 12.00pm (Noon) on the day of your order placement.

What do I need to do if my flight details change?
If your flight details change please contact our Customer Call Centre by toll-free phone on 0800-DUTY FREE (0800 388 937) if inside New Zealand and on +64 9 308 0700 if overseas. In the unlikely event that your arrival flight to New Zealand is diverted to another airport please make sure you have your arrivals sales docket stamped by New Zealand Customs when you pass through immigration. This will allow us to distribute the goods to you after you have arrived.
Where do I collect my duty free order from?
All duty free purchases must be collected at either Auckland international airport where you arrive into New Zealand or depart from New Zealand. To see maps to our collection points click here.

What if DFS is closed when I want to collect my online purchase?
Our Auckland and Auckland airport stores are open to meet all departing and arriving flights, whatever the time of day or night. Your goods will be ready for collection on the day that you have specified.
Can I get my duty free delivered to my home?
No. To receive the benefits of purchasing goods that are tax and duty free your order must be collected either once you have cleared Customs on departure from New Zealand or prior to clearing Customs on arrival into New Zealand.
What if I can't find the product I am looking for?
Our stores offer a selection of over 25,000 products however our website concentrates on only our top selling items. If you can't find what you're looking for please contact us by email to nzinternet@dfs.com or by toll-free phone on 0800-DUTY FREE (0800 388 937). We will be happy to advise you if we have the product in stock and how you can go about purchasing it.

Can I process my Departure and Arrival orders together?
No. Since the flight details will be different for the departure and arrival orders you will need to complete two separate orders.
There are different rules for duty free shopping, governed by New Zealand Customs, applying to travelers departing New Zealand and travelers arriving into New Zealand. To avoid any breaches of these rules departures and arrivals orders need to be submitted separately.
Can anyone purchase duty free?
No. To purchase duty free or tax free goods, you need to be travelling internationally. To buy duty free goods from this website you must be flying into or out of Auckland International airport.

Can I order my duty free along with my partner's duty free?
Yes. As long as the order is being picked up at the same time from the same location, then we can process orders for more than one person as a single order. Remember that each person will need to claim their own allowance when passing through customs.
Can I purchase more duty free if my children are traveling with me?
Duty Free can be purchased for all customers who are flying internationally and are over 18 years of age. Remember that each person will need to claim their own allowance when passing through customs.
How do I know if the products are in stock?
Our database is updated frequently to ensure that all the products on this website are always in stock. If an ordered item becomes unavailable after it is ordered, we will notify you as soon as possible offering substitutes or the opportunity to cancel your order.
How does the basket item counter and total work?
The basket item counter at the top of the page actually counts the number of different products, not the number of units in the basket.
